Downtown Los Angeles runs on districts — flower, fabric, jewelry, and suits — wholesale worlds the public was never invited into. We grew up inside them. This store is our family opening the suit district's door.
For over twenty years, the suits in this warehouse dressed boutiques and department stores across the country. A groom never bought one at the warehouse price — he bought it three markups later, in a mall, from a rack with somebody else's name over the door. The warehouse wasn't hiding. The public simply wasn't the customer.
Suit District Direct changes the customer. We are the broker at the district's edge: we sell, service, and stand behind every order — and the suits ship straight from the same Commerce, California shelves that stock the stores. You pay the step before the markup. We call that suits at the source, and it's the whole idea.
This store was built by Daniel, Yeron, and Yaniv Hamudot — father, brother, and son — out of thirty years of family trade in downtown Los Angeles: manufacturing on Towne Ave, wholesale rooms off Los Angeles Street, boutiques of our own. Clothing is not a category we entered. It's the family trade, learned at a cutting table.
Suit District Direct is one door in a row of them. Our family's District Direct stores each open one wholesale world to the public: Flower District Direct for flowers at the source, Fabric District Direct for the garment district's cloth, Sign District Direct for signs made where signs are made — and now suits. Same philosophy at every door: connect people directly to the source, cut out the middleman, and treat the customer like a neighbor.
And Spirit Sportfishing — named for the spirit our mother and our brother left in us: to live, to build, and to be.
Our mission is plain: honor the family name, grow in order to help people, and make people feel good and happy. A man standing straight in a suit that fits — at a price that didn't insult him — is that mission in a photograph. So is a wedding party that kept its suits instead of feeding a rental counter.
